Many people think that if we want solar, all that is necessary is to go out and buy and install PV panels. However, it is more complicated than that. Without net-metering, incentives, interconnection and utility support, advancing solar energy is an uphill battle. Policy stimulates markets. Our legislators, regulators and local utilities will determine whether or not solar is viable in your community. It's not the amount of sunshine you have, it's about the policies that support solar technology – New Jersey is the second leading state in terms of installed solar systems after California!
